William Robert (Bob) Warnock of Mission, TX. died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at his home in Willis, Tx- surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 6, 1932 in Mission. He was the son of Henry and Vivian Warnock, of south Texas. Bob served in the Navy during the Korean War as a Frogman in Special Forces. In 1965, he married Shirley Passmore, of Kilgore, Tx, and together they raised four children- Charles Warnock, David Warnock, Gary Warnock, and Susan Warnock Richie.
From those children came ten grandchildren- Rachel Warnock, Stephen Warnock, and Matthew Warnock (children of Charles & Diana); Bethany Warnock Roe, Ferris Warnock Owen, and Dylan Warnock (children of David & Phebe), Weston Warnock Son of Gary) and Kyle Smitherman (son of Gary and Karen) Sarah Richie and Jonathan Richie (children of Scott & Susan), as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Bob was known for being a hard worker, a fixer of anything, and a man of integrity and honesty. He was always ready to laugh- even telling his family near the end when asked what he needed- “a little time and a few kind words”.
Bob worked as a Master Mechanic for a variety of companies, literally all over the world. After he retired, he loved to travel and look for adventure with his constant companion, Shirley- and after a few months at home, was ready to hit the road somewhere. He loved to work in his yard, feed his birds, and listen to his old Gospel Music favorites.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Warnock (Willis, Tx), and sons, Charles Warnock (with his wife, Diana), of Longview, Tx, David Warnock (with his wife, Phebe), of Nashville, Tn, Gary Warnock (with his wife, Karen) of Huffman, Tx, and daughter Susan Warnock Richie (with her husband, Scott) of The Woodlands, Tx. .
Bob is also survived by his siblings: Betty Jane Caughlin, Louise DeKock, Tom Warnock, Jennie Chace, and husband Roy Chase, and Carolyn Fredrick and husband Bill Fredrick.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Tuesday, May 31 at 10:00 AM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Tx. Visitation will be Monday, May 30 from 5-7PM.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
