Terry grew up in Houston and graduated from Scarborough High School in 1971. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the United States Navy where he worked on a nuclear submarine. Terry attended Sam Houston State University after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Military. He worked for C.M. Joslin, Right of Way Contractor, for over 35 years. Terry umpired softball in and around Montgomery County for nearly 40 years. He loved sports, especially watching the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and College Game Day. Terry absolutely loved traveling with his wife, family reunions, scuba diving and most of all spending time with loved ones.
He was Preceded in death by his parents, Ted L. Wood and Peggy & Bill Pursley, and brother Glen Allen Barrett. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Joyce, children Klint Henson & partner Fallon Snavely, Joey Henson & spouse Michelle, grandchildren Mason & Lyla Henson, sister Cindy Wood, brother in law Fred Hilliard & spouse Laura, step-mother Jeri Wood, nephew Glen Wesley Barrett & spouse Jinnifer Barrett and their children Adyson Grace & McKenna Leigh, nephews Clay Barrett and Justin Johnston, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Terry’s infectious smile and warm heart will be dearly missed by everyone he graced with it.
Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday , May 7, 2022 at 2:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home officiated by Eddie Skinner.
