Stephen Leroy Rowley, of Conroe, got to go home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2018 at about 2:30 in the afternoon surrounded by his family. He died at home, as was his wish. We held his hand and kissed him goodbye. He drank a little scotch and his last meal was a jalapeno cheeseburger from Sonic, followed up with a donut. Steve fought a long hard battle with congestive heart failure and diabetes. He was not a quitter. His last words on this earth were “What the F…”, and nobody was surprised. Steve was born on July 9, 1945 in McPherson, Kansas, to Leroy and Nadine Rowley. His wife of 31 years, Becky Rowley, survives him. He is also survived by his children, Tony Rowley and wife Brooke Whitten, Brent Rowley and wife Amanda, and Kelley Brown and husband Will. He was a loving grandpa to James, Katie, Sarah, Shane, and Jacob. He also leaves a brother, Tom Rowley and wife Phyllis, along with numerous Nieces and Nephews. Steve was a Life Member H.O.G. of Cut and Shoot where his buddies called him Smokin’. He enjoyed the CNS Toy Run and being able to provide toys for the children in the CPS system. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking in his kitchen, and shooting skeet, but most of all porch sitting, drinking good scotch and skinny dipping even to the dismay of all around. Steve was the life of the party and the best Cabana Boy during family pool parties. He was the King of the Rig at work and spent his life being an Oil and Gas Consultant and Company Man. He got to travel the world and ran out of a pages in his passport from all of his travels. Everyone that ever worked with him remembered him, even years later. Most of them knew him as just Rowley, but he was also called Jasper, along with several other names not suitable for mixed company. Steve was reunited in Heaven with his parents Leroy and Nadine Rowley. He gets to give a big hug and kiss to his grandson Jacob Brown, and sister in law Cathy Cook. He will be missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the lives that he touched. Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 3pm in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with Doyle Ives officiating.
