He was born June 7, 1954 to Harold and Jean Goldwait in Somerville, Massachusetts. Steve’s parents were long time residents of The Woodlands and have preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Bible Church, 5505 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, Texas, 77381.
Steve was an accomplished vocalist, an entrepreneur and Business Broker as well as a veteran of the United States Navy. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Steve studied music at New England and San Francisco Conservatories of Music. He was a lead cantor for many years at Church of the Holy Name and also sang at St. Mary’s, and, St Zepherin’s in Mass. His debut recording was with the Greater Bostonians at age 17. He later recorded his own Christmas CD featuring “O Holy Night” and other Christmas favorites. He loved music and theatre.
Steve’s greatest joy came from his two children, Lauren Goldwait of Waltham, Mass. and
Douglas Goldwait of Wayland, Mass. He was thrilled to add daughter-in-law Marygrace to his family last month.
Other survivors include his brothers and sisters, Linda Hebert of Southlake, Texas; Laurie Willin of New Waverly, Texas; Katie Brown of The Woodlands, Texas; Matthew Goldwait of Tenby, Wales; Patrick Goldwait of Sugar Land, Texas; and Christopher Goldwait of Conroe, Texas. Steve is further survived by many sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
