From a very young age, she loved to spend her time in the kitchen cooking. She spent the first seventeen years of her life in Guyana, before immigrating to Conroe, Texas. She attended McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas, graduating in 1982. She then attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She always had a passion for flight and travel, which was fulfilled by her employment at Continental Airlines, which would later become United Airlines. She was proud of her career. For 35 years, she was a dedicated employee, working as a Premier Reservations Sales and Service Representative. She enjoyed her time at United Airlines.
Ruth loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She married the love of her life, Kevin on August 29, 1992. They shared many years of love and laughter before his passing in January of 2002. During their time together, they traveled the world. She loved telling stories about the places they had visited, which included Hawaii, Mexico, Australia, Germany, Guyana, and the Grand Canyon. They spent a lot of time camping, hunting, boating, fishing, and going on road trips. Together, they had four daughters. She loved them very dearly. She also loved airplanes, traveling, baking and cooking, watching tv, and spending time with her daughters and her three grandchildren. She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Daniel Skelton and her grandparents, Bhimdeo Kumar and Sambhagia Saroop, Ali Baksh and Jainab Shaw.
She is survived by her four daughters: Lauren Nicole Rogers (Jared), Ashley Rhiannon Skelton, Danielle Alyssa Skelton, and Victoria Ann Skelton, stepson Michael Anthony Richard Skelton, grandchildren: Carson Daniel, Reagan Grace, and Jameson Lane, her parents: George Roland and Bibbie Nazmoon Koomar, sisters, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation for Ruth will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors. Burial will follow on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S The Woodlands, Texas 77384. Pallbearers will be Jared Rogers, Joel Stoner, Gil Cantu IV, Richard Harrison, Wayne Kennedy, Christopher Smith
