Graveside services for Queen LaFrance Sayers, age 78, of Montgomery will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Florence Cemetery, Florence, TX. Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
Queen was born to Mary and Clyde Lawler in Florence, Texas on April 5, 1934 and passed away on September 6, 2012 in Tomball, Texas. She was a resident in Montgomery County for the past 50 plus years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Sayers Sr. Queen leaves behind two children, daughter, LaJeanne Pace and husband Michael Pace, and son, Thomas G. Sayers Jr.; four grandchildren, Megan Sayers, Blake Clayton, Mike Jr. and wife Jennifer Pace; and two great grandchildren, Karley and Gavin Pace.
She was one of the founding members of Woodland Place Baptist Church in Magnolia, Texas. She served as financial secretary for many years as well as other positions. The last few months of Ms. Queen’s life she was lovingly cared for in the home of family member Diana Pace Matthews and husband Mark and friend, Kim Gillespie. She was loved greatly by these two ladies and will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank her nurses, Beth and Vivian, with Rose of Texas Hospice for their compassionate care during her illness and also for her dear friend, Muriel Karber, for her frequent visits and assistance.
