Melvin was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Stella and Robert Seay. Melvin moved with his family to Conroe in 1980, where he spent the remainder of his life. During his time in Conroe, he owned Lone Star Transmission for about 30 years. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter for most of his life.
Melvin is survived by his sons, Melvin Seay, Jr. and wife Renee, Robbie Seay, Sr., and his daughter, Denise Douglas and husband Michael. His grandchildren Robbie Seay, Jr. and wife Laci, Mark Seay and wife Andrea, Cody Seay, Amanda Ferguson and husband Clint Jr., Megan Owens and husband Eric, Ashley Armstrong and fiancé James. His great-grandchildren Kendale, Mason, Tucker, Paityn, Gentry, Adilynn, Elijah, Brooklyn, Leighanna, Casten, Colton, Lauren, Sawyer, Abel, and Jordyn. His brother Jimmy Seay and wife Brenda, sister, Rilla Jolley, and his fiancé JoAnn VanWicklen.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Alice Seay. His mother and father, Stella and Robert Seay. His brothers Robert, Kenneth, and Walter Wilborn, JM and Dewver Harris and his twin sisters, Ola Mora and Ida Gifford.
Graveside service will be at Garden Park Cemetery at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe ,Texas on Monday February 21, 2022 at 2pm. His service will be officiated by Clint Ferguson, Sr.
