WELTER-Mary Lou Louch Welter was born February 25, 1928 in Joliet, Illinois, and passed away May 24, 2011. Mary previously resided in Huffman, Texas until she was admitted to Silverado Memory Care Center in 2010.
Mary is preceded in death in death by her husband, Orville “Buzz” Thomas Welter; parents: Benjamin and Hazel Louch; brothers Joseph and Jack Louch; sisters: Elizabeth Gergacz and Roma Kimak.
Mary is survived by her two loving children: Janet Marie and Husband Joe Dowdy and Glenn Thomas and Danna Welter; grandsons: Bryan Welter, and Bradley Welter and wife Audra; brothers: Robert, Jim and George Louch; sisters: Shirley Liker and Charlotte Legois. She was also blessed to have Danny, Robin, Alexis, Kennedy, and Daniel Smith as special loved ones in her life.
Mary graduated from Lemont High School in Illinois and married “Buzz” Welter September 25th, 1954 at St. Patrick’s Holy Roman Catholic Church in Lemont. They relocated to Houston, Texas in 1962 where Mary lovingly raised her two children. Eventually the family moved to Huffman, Texas where her two children graduated from Huffman High School. Her husband passed away in the summer of 1976.
Mary will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and a special member of the Smith’s lives. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and all of those who loved and cared for her.
A private visitation and Rosary including family and close friends will be held Wednesday May 25, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00pm with the Rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Metcalf Funeral Directors. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00am Thursday May 26, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Mary Welter may be sent to Silverado Memory Care Center or Silverado Hospice 7950 Bay Branch Dr. The Woodlands Texas 77382 or the Alzheimer’s Association.
