Fondly known as Joey to the world, & to his parents as the Tiger, Pompau, and Hanouni Banouni , he was born against all odds, and was the most special & beautiful baby. Although predicted to be blind, he had perfect vision and saw the world through his bright sparkly eyes. Joey could disarm you with his cutest smile, silly dance, and heavenly hugs. He must hold the world record for hugs and kisses as it was his favorite sport. A hug from Joey was a blessing each time. You could expect him to wrap his arms around you, squeeze tightly, and be immersed into a never ending feeling of love, peace, and warmth until he let go but not before landing a few big kisses. He would often sigh a sign of relief when hugging mom or dad after a long day of school. Hugs & cuddles were his comfort and safety. Singing the ABC song was his absolute favorite, especially the letters A, E, and “Ohhhh”. Daniel Tiger and Busy Beavers were his favorite shows to watch and although he had not yet learned to potty on the toilet, he could navigate in and out of any device and app with his eyes closed.
Not only a lover and a techno tot, he was the greatest tower builder in the whole wide world! Loving to build with blocks, magnets, and anything that would stack, his mischief, curiosity, and imagination were endless. He loved water, often splashing about at bath time, water tables, and running freely in the ocean’s waves. He filled the sounds of our home and hearts with belly laughs, giggles, tantrums, and the pounding of feet as he ran about, jumping on his trampoline, or into his ball pit. Joseph was as much of a daredevil as he was a lover, thoroughly enjoying the thrills of flying on a rollercoaster and climbing and sliding off of everything. He was the boss of our house and the love of our lives. Joseph brought us endless joy and taught us about patience and love on a supernatural level. Perhaps in 6.5 short years he received and provided more affection than any one person could ever experience in two lifetimes. Nothing will ever fill the magnitude of the hole wrought in our souls by this loss. We will try to lean in on our countless memories and on each other for comfort. We love you so much, baby boy. Keep the floors of heaven messed with cheerios until we snuggle in the clouds again.
Joseph was greeted in heaven by Great Great Grandparents Rabah & Yamouna, Great Grandpa Messaoud, Great Grandma Elsie, Grandpas Ioan, Fares, and Tim Sr, Great Aunts Salima, Gina, Karly, & Donna, Great Uncles Mike, Abdelhadi, Danny, Gerald, Gary, Larry, & Sterling.
He leaves behind broken hearted on earth, Dada & Mama (Gemal & Nadia Khalil), big sister Jada, Uncle Tim (Marszalek), two Grandma Dianas (Marszalek & Peters), and a never ending list of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
