Johnny Glen Smith, 77, was born on May 20, 1945, to John and Hazel Smith in Silsbee, Texas and passed away on October 24, 2022, in Conroe, Texas with his family by his side. Johnny was a long time resident of Conroe. He worked on the pipelines alongside with his brother-in-law, M.C. Carrell as a directional driller for Longs Underground Utilities and Horseshoe Constructions. In his younger years Johnny was a chicken fighter and enjoyed being involved in cook offs and trail rides with the Dugan Raiders. He always loved to play a game of 42 or moon, and never missed a game of "God's team", The Dallas Cowboys. He was a longtime member of Conroe's Elk Lodge. Later in life, you could find him under his carport listening to his jukebox and spending time with his great-grand kids. He never missed their softball games or a cheer event.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, John Henry Smith; mother, Hazel Smith; wife, Juanita Smith; and their daughter, Karen Johnson. He is survived by his daughter, Shawnda Smith; grandchildren, Brittany Alvarez and her husband Daniel, Ashley Johnson, Glen Franks, Jonathan Johnson and his wife Kelsyie, Daniel Johnson; great grandchildren, Braylyn Alvarez, De'Anna Alvarez, Amelia (Millie)Alvarez; siblings, Doris Stockton and her husband David, Cathy West, Sue Hobbs, JW Smith, Robert Smith and his wife Deana; as well as a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Cashner Funeral Home, in Conroe, Texas with the graveside service immediately following in Garden Park Cemetery.
