John Robert Bailey went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 4, 2020, at the early age of 58. He had been a member of West Conroe since 2000. John was a loving kind hearted person. He loved his family and friends, reading, music, fishing, hobbies, golf, old cars, collecting and old TV shows. John was born October 26, 1961 in Tarrant County of Fort Worth Texas to Helenbeth Bailey and Robert Stanley Dawson Bailey, and was the first born of 3 children.
John moved to the Houston area in 1984 and attended Champion Forest Baptist Church, while attending the Singles Group met his wife of 33 years. They were married March 7, 1987 at Champion Forest Baptist church and later moved to Spring Texas. By God given talent, John was a craftsman and all-around fixer of broken things. He loved to create, draw, dream, build, tinker and could build just about anything. He was a machinist by trade and worked with his hands. Our son was born May 31, 1990 and soon became John’s new focus in life. Josh was introduced at a young age to following daddy, be in the garage, tinker or “Piddle” as we call it. John taught Sunday school, Royal Ambassadors RA, AWANA, children’s church, Bible School, member in the choir and praise teams plus played the piano and guitar. John was an active member at Spring Memorial Baptist Church, Spring Baptist Church and later in 1998 after we moved to Conroe, TX, joined West Conroe Baptist Church. He was a dedicated deacon and loved serving people and his widows. He attended Men’s Bible Study Fellowship of the Woodlands and men’s prayer breakfast EVERY Monday.
John was always trying to be a better man, better husband and a better father. Written in his Bible after attending Promise Keepers, reads “On this Day October 29, 1994, I John R. Bailey do Promise to Honor Jesus Christ through worship, prayer and obedience to His Word in the Power of the Holy Spirit and pursue vital relationships with a few other men, understanding that I need brothers to Help me keep my promises.” He indeed found many men he called brothers that helped him keep that promise.
He is proceeded in death by his mother Helenbeth Bailey Newell of Weed, NM. John is survived by his wife Carol Bailey of Conroe, TX, son and his fiancé Joshua Bailey and Ashley Cabrera of New Caney, TX, father Robert Bailey and step mother Mary Bailey of Bellingham, WA, step father Francis Newell of Weed, NM, sister and her husband Karen and Doug Sheldon of Bellingham, WA, brother Allan Bailey of Seattle, WA, brother Buddy Newell of Conroe, TX, sister and her husband Terri and Mike Brown of Ferndale, WA, brother and his wife Ken and Staci Asp of Bellingham, WA.
