Jimmy D. DeLoss, age 81, of Conroe, TX was born on March 29, 1932 in Portland, OR. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Infantry Division Thunderbirds during the Korean War, earning the Silver Star during his service in Korea. After his military service, he went to college earning his barbers license. He later went to work in the telecommunications field continuing 41 years before retiring in 1994.
Jim and Doris DeLoss were married on October 23, 1954 until his arrival at the Lord’s door on October 9, 2013. They lived in St. Louis, MO then moved to Oklahoma City, OK in 1955 where they had three children. The family moved to Pasadena, TX in 1964 then to Conroe, TX in 1968.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ora Mae DeLoss; father Clark Walter DeLoss; sisters Kathleen Younkin, Frankie Bowles, and Alma Owens; brothers Clark Walter DeLoss, Luther and Norman Harris; daughter-in-law Karen DeLoss; and granddaughter Sara Elizabeth DeLoss.
He is survived by his wife Doris; sons Jimmy and wife Sharon, Rodney and wife Darla; daughter Tammy and husband David Sargent; grandchildren Cliff, Shawntel, Marlys, Eric, Jacob, George, Lucas, LaDawna, Stephanie, Megan, Tara, Sherene, Steven, Justin, Margie, and Patrick; twenty-five great grandchildren plus two soon-to-be arrivals; four great great grandchildren; sister Ida Mae Lynch; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
A viewing is being held on October 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on October 14, 2013 at Cashner Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Bates officiating.
