Jerrell LaWayne Craft, 82, died peacefully at his home on October 3, 2016 in Montgomery, Texas. Jerrell was born July 29, 1934 in Merryville, Louisiana to Dean and Trudy Craft. After high school, he joined the army and spent 2 years in Japan. He then returned home and moved to Houston where he began working for the Houston Belt & Terminal Railroad, which later became Union Pacific. He retired in 1999 after 40 years. He was married to Judy Randall for 56 years, and they had three children. He was an avid sports fan; football, baseball, basketball, it didn’t matter, but particularly for his grandsons’ little league games. If he couldn’t attend their games, then the play-by-play had to be relayed through text messages. Jerrell is survived by his wife, Judy Craft, sisters Maxi Hare, Betty Daoust, Mary Linda Craft, and brother Jerry Craft; children Cydney Christensen (Dean), Randy Craft (Laura), and Chris Craft (Kristin); grandchildren Jacquelyne Vickers, Ashley Burris, Caitlin Craft, Aron Craft, and Carson Craft; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Willie Craft and George Craft. Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe, Texas on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 8, 2016 beginning at 12:30pm. The graveside will follow in Conroe Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Jeremy Vickers, Scott Burris, Aron Craft, Carson Craft, Ricky Perry, and Allen Sibley.
