Enrique G. Garza, Sr., a.k.a Henry Sr. passed away peacefully in his home of 50 years in Conroe, TX, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 74.
Mr. Garza was born in Villa de Santiago, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Francisca Garcia and Julian Montelongo Garza in addition to 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
He was one of the first Hispanic families to move to the city of Conroe in the late 60s where he utilized his strong work ethics to start a new life for his wife and children. Henry Sr. worked as a carpenter for Bob Yeager, installed fences for James Graham, auto-mechanic for Joe Meyers – Nissan, and retired from Tile Works of Conroe in 2007.
In his early years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on his classic cars with his sons, including his 1963 Ford truck, 1947 Coup, 1954 F100 forest green delivery truck, and his infamous 1955 “Baby Blue” Ford truck.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Maria Garza of 55 years; Son Henry Garza, Jr., children, Laura, Jeremy, and Jacob; Son Sam Garza, wife Roxane; children, Sammy, Megan, husband Cole Murphy and their daughters Juliana and Mariah; Nic and fiancé Brooke, daughter, Gabriella; His Daughter Cynthia, and son, Trey Hernandez, fiancé Mindy; His Daughter Gracie, husband Stuart Harvey and children, Courtney and Cailey.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Conroe, TX at Metcalf Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Lucas Olivarez of West Conroe Baptist Church.
