Harry was born to J. Edgar Moore and Joyce Moore in Canton, North Carolina. He married Betty K. Huffman, and they had three daughters, Anita, Susan, and Melanie. They were married for 66 years and had a total of 17 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was a Methodist and a Mason. Harry served as a volunteer at the Pasadena Fire Department for many years and served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Champion International Papers where he was a supervisor and electrician for many years. He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Construction Engineering. After Betty’s passing, Harry remarried Hazel Marie Hargis.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, J. Edgar Moore and Joyce Robinson Moore, sister, Joice Eddie (Cox) Moore, and wife, Betty K. Moore. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Marie (Hargis) Moore, her children, Rachelle, Carlton, and Giselle (Mark) and their families, his three daughters, Anita (Tom) Lewis, Susan (Skip) Bird, and Melanie Moore, two nephews, Kenny and Corbet, grandchildren, Trent (Jill), Amber (Matt), Ashley (Max), and Cassie, great grandchildren, Van, Bella, Luka, Keira, Jacob, Isaac, Kai, Zackary (Dulce), Nathan, Joshua, and Lexi, and great-great grandchildren, Alex, and Luna.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Memorial Hermann Hospital—The Woodlands, and Alamo Hospice for their care.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00am in Garden Park Cemetery (801 Teas Rd., Conroe, Texas, 77303).
