If they were squeaking, he probably hit them with a little WD-40. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, we no longer get to listen to him complain how the food is too spicy, or that we put beans in the chili, or hear about how much he hated working on that dreaded Dodge truck and John Deer tractor.
Richard, also known as Mayor Molk and other nicknames not church appropriate, will join his father and mother, Eugene and Christine Molk, and sister Dorris Flaniken, and in his words, the best thing that ever happened to him, his wife, Janice Molk. He is survived by his brother Bart Molk. He passes on his legacy to his sons Matthew Molk and daughter in law Jessica and Kevin Hanselman and wife Katie, beloved nephew who he thought of as a son, Stacy Wiese, grandchildren, Kalysta, Koltyn, Elizabeth, Madison, Lily and Lain, and a handful of great grandkids.
In place of the party he mentioned, because again… church, we will celebrate his life Saturday, December 21st, 2 p.m., at Farris Chapel in Richards Texas. He will then be laid to rest beside the love of his life in Farris Cemetery. Set him straight Janis! We never could. Mayor Molk insisted we feed everyone for the fuss. Dinner will be served following our final goodbyes in the fellowship hall at Farris Chapel.
Each Christmas Richard handed out poinsettias to family and friends. He was a giver. We ask that you carry on this tradition. In leu of flowers please give a poinsettia to someone you love as Richard did so many times.
From the famous mind of Mayor Molk: “How can I miss you if you won’t go away. So come back when you can’t stay so long!”
A celebration of life for Eugene will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Farris Chapel, Richards, Texas.
Eugene will be laid to rest in Farris Chapel Cemetery, Richards, Texas.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be shared at www.metcalffuneraldirectors.com for the Molk family.
