Cynthia Elterich Brown

Cynthia Elterich Brown, 88, passed away on August 14, 2012 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Brown. Cynthia is survived by her sister, Leslie Goolishian, her son, Jeffrey Brown and his wife Yvette, and daughter Linda Valls and husband Brooks. She also was grandmother to Lauren Scott and husband Kevin Scott, Philip Valls, and John Valls and great-grandmother to Georgia Brooks Scott. Cynthia was born in Newton, Mass and grew up in Watertown, Mass. She served in the US Navy in World War II, and married Ralph in 1950. They made their home in New Providence, NJ for 28 years where Cynthia made many lifetime friends. They moved to Houston in 1970 and lived in The Woodlands since 1990. Cynthia’s heart was always in New England and Cape Cod where she loved spending summers at her cottage near Plymouth, Mass. A private memorial service will be held at 12:30PM on Friday at the Cashner Colonial Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date at Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
