Charlene Stoker Bradshaw passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 following heart surgery. Charlene was born in Oak Park, Illinois on August 2, 1929. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles Stoker and Iva Stoker; brothers, Paul and James Stoker; and sister, Dorothy Stoker Fry. Surviving is brother, Charles Stoker of Shore Acres, Texas. She graduated from Brookston High School in Brookston, Indiana in 1947. She married Arthur Bradshaw on October 28, 1950 who survives. She was a wonderful mother and mother-in-law to her three children and their spouses, David & Laurie Bradshaw of Grand Junction, Colorado, Leslie and Richard McManus of Montgomery, Texas and Doug and Trish Bradshaw of Santee, California. Grandchildren, Chas Bradshaw, Piper Bradshaw, Jeannette Jorden, Karen O’Neal, Ken McManus, Bill McManus, Donna Lentz, Richard McManus, Susie York and Katie McManus also survive. The family moved to Texas and Houston in 1965, and she and Arthur retired to Walden on Lake Conroe in 1992. Charlene spent 19 happy years in retirement with wonderful friends and neighbors. She was a member of Montgomery United Methodist Church where she was active in the Food Pantry. She enjoyed golfing with the Shortknockers and the Walden 9 hole ladies group. Her peppy cheerful demeanor will be sorely missed on the golf course. A memorial service will be held at the Montgomery United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
