Carol Joyce Morton Johns, born on November 7, 1947, and went home to be with the lord on December 2, 2022, at the young age of 75. Carol Joyce Johns, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, gained her angel wings on December 2, 2022 in her home with her loving husband Richard Johns (Johnny Johns) by her side in Cleveland, Montgomery County Texas.
Carol’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her, understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here. She never met a stranger and leaves behind many loving family members and friends.
Carol was a Texas country girl from her birth in Palestine, Texas and the youngest of seven children. You could find her most mornings making breakfast and preparing bottles for the calves and doing what she did best, taking care of her family. You never saw Carol without her husband by her side and you never saw him without her. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life. There was never a day that went by she did not brag about all of her beautiful family.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Richard L Johns (Johnny Johns), her two children Byron Elrod of Splendora, Texas and Susan Johns-Kessner (Roger Kessner) of Cleveland, Texas, her sisters Gertrude Metzler of Conroe, Texas and Marilyn Tippen of Palestine, Texas. Carol is also survived by five grandchildren, Rhys Moore, Christopher Johns II, (Brittany Johns), Michael Johns, Shelbie Hill (Derek Hill), Rebecca Ard and seven great-grandchildren, Rylea, Ryder, Ryan Hill, Caydence & Jerri Johns, Paizlea Johns and Harper Barnett. To meet her at the pearly gates are her parents, numerous sisters, brothers and son Christopher Johns I, and all of the animals she so dearly loved.
