Bruce Wayne Johnson, born January 13, 1953, in Houston, Texas, and passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024, in Conroe Texas, in the arms of his wife at Season’s Assisted Living & Memory Care from Alzheimer’s Dementia.
He was preceded in death by his Father Curnel Johnson, Mother Clara Winkle DeVries, and Sister Carolyn Randolph.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Lewis Johnson, son Brian (Brooke) Johnson, stepson Scott (Candace) Thames, stepdaughter Jacee Thames, stepson Corey (Mandi) Johnson, and granddaughter Skyler Thames.
Bruce attended both Conroe High School and Spring Branch High School before beginning his career as a machinist. He went to work at Kranco Crane in 1975 and when Kranco closed, he went to work at National Oilwell Varco (NOV) in 1992 until he retired in 2016.
Bruce was reunited with his high school sweetheart in 1985, he quickly learned to SCUBA dive to keep up with her. They enjoyed their SCUBA trips over the years and made many life-long friends along the way. Bruce was a perfectionist and very competitive. He enjoyed tennis, and even learned to play the saxophone at 62.
Bruce dedicated his life to Christ with his Baptism, February 14, 2016 and he lived a very full life until the cruel disease, Alzheimer’s took him way before his time, but Bruce believed GOD has a plan for everyone, and it was his time. No Regrets.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care and support of the caregivers at Season’s Conroe and Oasis Hospice.
