Bonnie Cassill Wilkinson, at age 91 passed away on April 6, 2021. She was born February 4, 1930 in Blue Rapids, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Wilkinson, her adoptive parents, Leo and Charlotte Miller.
She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Thomas Neil Wilkinson of San Antonio, Texas and her daughter and husband, Kathy and Jerry Caves of Humble, Texas. Her grandchildren include Chad Caves, Tyler Caves and Shelby Caves Riehle and husband Kevin, Kristina Wilkinson Marsico and husband Travis, Jonathan Wilkinson and Samuel Wilkinson. Her Great grandchildren Brooklyn and Lincoln Marsico, and Parker and Logan Riehle. Her surviving family also includes special granddaughters, Lacey Grisham Campbell and husband, Scott and Heidi Hujar and husband, Tom. Her special Great granddaughters, are Avery and Lindsey Campbell and Harper Hujar.
Bonnie grew up on a farm in northern Kansas. She attended a one room school and graduated from a rural high school as valedictorian. She later earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees. She began teaching at age 17 in the same school where she was taught as a child. Her career in education eventually spanned 30 years, and culminated in the naming of Wilkinson Elementary in 2009
After retiring in 1994, Bonnie devoted her life to her family, friends and to volunteering in her church and the Assistance League of Montgomery County. Also, she served as president of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Montgomery County Retired School Personnel and the Montgomery County Performing Arts League.
The family is requesting donations, in lieu of flowers, to the American Heart Association https://www.heart.org/ or to the Assistance League of Montgomery County https://www.assistanceleague.org/montgomery-county/donate-2/ in Bonnie’s name.
