Betty Jo Gordon passed away December 27, 2014 in Conroe, Texas, at the age of 85. She was born in Rochelle, Texas on April 12, 1929 to James Aubrey and Minnie Irvin Sanson. Betty was a devoted member of 1st United Methodist Church. She graduated from University of Texas in 1950 and attained a master’s degree from Sam Houston State University in education; had numerous post graduate studies. Betty was an educator for 30 years. She was a pianist, seamstress and enjoyed cooking. Betty is a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted friend; will be missed greatly. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Aubrey and Minnie Irvin Sanson; sister and brother in law, Mildred and MG Breckenridge. Betty is survived by her daughter, Gloria Grayless and husband Mark of Conroe, TX, sons, Edwin A Gordon of Frisco, TX and Robert L Gordon Jr. of Conroe, TX, grandchildren, Matthew Grayless and wife Megan, Ryan Grayless and wife Haley, Brady Gordon, Audrey Gordon, Katherine Gordon and Robert L Gordon III and great grandson, Nate Grayless. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive. The family would like to give a special thank you to Lottie Lovelady, Glenesha Lovelady and Bessie Mitchell for the loving care they provided to Betty. Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at Cashner Funeral Home from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 3:00pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Burial will take place in Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady, Texas Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, http://www.alz.org/.
