Sandra Elaine Simmons

Sandra Elaine Simmons, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton, her home for many years. She was born on June 8, 1949 in Catawba Co., to the late Harvey Lee Simmons and Betty Christopher Simmons.

Sandra was a resident of J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center for most of her adult life. This close-knit community filled her life with love and happiness. Music was a big part of her life. She loved dancing to her favorite beats, attending chapel services, or even a concert on Friday night. Sandra was very lively and sociable. She was always ready for an adventure such as going on trips to the beach or outings in the community. She loved being the center of attention and would always greet you with a big hug. Her mischievous personality and sense of humor would bring a smile to anyone's face.

Those left to cherish her memory are a brother, Charles Christopher Simmons and wife Kitty of Hickory; niece and guardian, Amy Simmons of Newton; nephew, Brian Simmons of Hickory; uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 1:00pm at Catawba Memorial Park.
