He was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He was a US Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. Max retired from Southern Furniture of Conover as an upholsterer. He enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and had a special love for animals. Time spent with his family was his greatest joy.
He is preceded in death by a son, Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Bowman and sister, Ethel Heavner and her husband Clarence.
Max is survived by his wife Margie of 65 years; daughters, Ketha Benfield and husband, Alan, Tanya Harkins and husband, Kim; grandchildren, Delaina, Wendy, Zach, Katie and Chris; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ella, Collyn, Chloey, Cambyll and Carsyn.
A Memorial Service will be held privately due to the closeness Max had with the love of his life, Margie.
