Born January 15, 1928 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Lee Deal and Metta Floy Bumgarner Deal. Mary was confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Newton, NC, on July 20, 1941, by Rev. E.R. Lineberger. Her confirmation memory verse was Romans 12:21 “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” She was a 1945 graduate of Oxford High School in Claremont and married Roger William Isaac on October 14, 1945 in Chester, SC. Mary was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont, NC, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She later volunteered in the gift shop of Catawba Valley Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roger William Isaac; sisters, Algene Deal Setzer and Mettaleen Deal Sigmon; brother, Floyd Deal; and sons-in-law, Ronald L. Frye and Gregory Vance Isaac.
Survivors include daughters, Rosemary Isaac & fiancé Kim Sigmon of Claremont, Jill Baker & husband Marty of Elon, NC, Cindy Hoffman of Hickory & fiancé Monte Connor of Catawba; sons, Kenneth Isaac & wife Brenda of Conover, Dale Isaac & wife Brenda of Claremont, Clark Isaac & wife Linda of Hickory; grandchildren, Bradley Isaac of Taylorsville, Christopher Isaac & wife Tracy of Claremont, Cliff Isaac & wife Robin of Cary, NC, Roger Dwain Isaac & friend Lana Griffin of San Jose, CA, Aaron Isaac & wife Mandy of China Grove, NC, Melissa Talbert & husband Ben of Greer, SC, Michael Isaac & wife Jennifer of Cary, NC, Brandon Frye & wife Jenny of Pace, FL, Jeremy Frye of Hickory, Rachel Isaac of Claremont, NC, Jordan-Ashley Baker of Charlotte, NC,

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Bethel Lutheran Church. Rev. Eric Hollar will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:45 PM on Friday.
Mary’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
