It is with great sorrow that the family of Kenneth Lane Moser announces his passing on October 20, 2024. Ken died unexpectedly. Ken was born on Sunday, February 27, 1944, to the late Henry Lane Moser and Eddie Mae Moser.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sons Kenneth Lane Moser, Jr and Derrick Chad Moser, brother Henry Arlyn Moser, and stepson Jay Fox.
Those left to cherish Ken’s memory is his longtime partner and wife Joanne Moser, son Todd Moser (Shelley), granddaughters Avery Maddox (Jess) and Jordan Moser, brothers Joel Moser (Pam), Charlie Moser (Peggy), nieces Joey Moser and Kelly Moser – Wedell (Rick), nephew David Moser, stepson Jamie Fox, and step granddaughters Stacey Eckard (Thomas), Shelby Cope, and his beloved yorkie Lulu.
Ken graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1962, where he was the Senior Class President, voted Best Looking and Best All Around and then attended Western Carolina University, where we graduated with a political science and history degree in 1966. He was a loyal member of his beloved TKE fraternity, where he loved his brothers dearly. He went on to become a schoolteacher in Catawba County and Iredell County for several years. Afterwards, he moved into the food service industry, working for Mom n Pops as a buyer for their restaurants. He then moved to Western Steer/Sagebrush, where he held many positions, retiring as the Vice President of Franchising and Operations. Ken then decided to go into restaurant ownership and spent several years as the owner of Bennett’s Smokehouse and Saloon. He decided to end his working life at the Viewmont ABC store where things began to slow down, and he could start enjoying retirement. Ken was a kind, loving, caring, and altogether a great man. He was always viewed as one of the greatest.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday October 29, 2024, at Drum Funeral Home, 509 First Ave South, Conover, NC 28613.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday October 29, 2024, at Drum Funeral Home, 509 First Ave South, Conover, NC 28613. Officiating will be reverend’s David Ludwig and Alec Fisher. Burial will follow at St. Mark's Cemetery in Claremont, NC.
