Juanita “Johnnie” Blankenship Hobbs, age 91 of Conover, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Conover Nursing and Rehab. Born May 18, 1930 in Alexander County, she was the daughter of the late Swan and Elsie Coffey Blankenship.
She was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University, Business Department, and worked as an executive secretary. A member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church, Newton, she was active in the United Methodist Women’s organization.
In addition to her parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband of 55
years, Albert M. Hobbs Jr., and two sisters, Muriel Marie Blankenship and Pauline
Blankenship Foster.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita Hobbs Creekmore; and a grandson, Grayson Mitchell Creekmore of Conover.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastview Cemetery in Newton, with Rev. Logan Miller officiating.
The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
