James Nicky Sigmon, age 66, of Claremont, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. He was the son of the late James C. Sigmon and Nellie Sigmon Sigmon. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. James was an Atlanta Braves Fan and enjoyed racing, fishing, and loved his garden and woodworking. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bradley James Sigmon; and brother, George “Boots” Sigmon.
Nick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cathy, of the home; daughter, Jeannie Lynnette “Lennie” Rowan, husband, Cooper, and grandson, Brooks Matthew Rowan, of Marietta, GA; brother, Buddy Joe Sigmon of Statesville; sisters, Mrs. (David) Raenell Hunsucker, of Catawba, and Mrs. (Sam) Nancy Propst, of Claremont; and sister-in-law, Betty Sigmon.
A Service of Rememberance will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Gary Haddock officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
