Born August 7, 1924 in Sumpter County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Alius Rigsby and Eva Louise Culpepper Rigsby. Betty was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and retired from the Social Security office in Hickory. Betty worked in Civil service and volunteered with the American Lung Association. She was a member of several garden clubs and enjoyed playing bridge, the piano and organ. She also enjoyed the company of her cats but most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Brent Lamprecht; second husband, Marvin Krueger; sister, Sue R. Smith.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Bette Ridgway Hedrick and husband, Bruce of Newton; son, David Ridgway and wife, Lisa of Hickory; grandchildren, Dax Ridgway, Nikki R. Levin, Samantha Ridgway, Chad Hedrick, Nadia Beam, Benjamin A. Hedrick; great-grandchildren, Abe Levin, Tate Levin, Blane Beam, Lily Beth Beam, Hunter Hedrick
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Rev. Brian Weaver officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. A private graveside service will be held at Conover City Cemetery on Thursday.
