Rosalyn "Rose" York, 85, of Connersville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 10, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born on November 7, 1937 in Connersville to William and Alma Koohns. She attended Harrisburg School through her childhood. On December 4, 1954 she married Billy "Gene" York in Connersville. They had three children in their 54 years together. Rose worked at Stants for many years as a foreman prior to retiring. She was a trustee for Columbia Community. In addition she worked at Third Street Village Pantry for ten years. She loved the Lord and attended Garrison Creek Baptist for many years. She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, working puzzles and playing card games. Rose was an avid mushroom hunter. She very much enjoyed playing Bingo but above all, she loved being with her family and friends. Survivors include three daughters: Becky (Jerry) Jobe, Patty Miracle, and Rhonda Harmon; one granddaughter: Jaime (Chris) Smith; one grandson: Cole Miracle; three great-grandchildren: Blayne Collins, Matthew Smith, and Montana Smith; one great-great grandson: Foxx Collins; many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her husband and parents; two brothers; Bill Koohns and Cledith Koohns; two sisters: Joretta Walker and Sharon Karn; grandson: Jason "Jake" Steele; granddaughter: Elizabeth "Annie" Steele; dear friend: Rosie Sergent. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Thursday June 15, 2023, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Tim Fluty officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m., until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Garrison Creek Baptist Church in Rose’s honor.
