Fran was born to Robert C. and Ester L. Abner Worster on August 4, 1931, in Connersville. Fran returned to high school as an adult to continue her education graduating with the class of 1967. An accomplished porcelain doll maker, Fran made numerous dolls for her friends, family, church family and strangers. Fran was also an exceptional teacher, instructing others how to make their own porcelain dolls. Fran was a charter member of Connersville Baptist Temple. She was an active member of the Temple Quilters, making several homemade quilts to give to the sick. An avid reader, Fran would read a variety of novels, however mystery novels were her favorite. Fran enjoyed singing in the church choir and spending time with her family. Her family will miss her greatly, along with anyone who called her friend.
Fran is survived by her daughter: Melissa Ford and her husband, Daniel of Indianapolis; her grandchildren: Heidi and Michael Heis; Adam and Aaron Ford; Douglas and Kenny Barnes, Jonathan Barnes; her sisters: Alice Bunch and Wilma Cooper both of Liberty; her daughter-in-law: Jean Barnes of Dallas Texas; and her son in-law: David Heis; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Fran is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Orville Victor Barnes; her son: Donald Barnes, daughter: Margaret Heis; her brother in-law: Bob Bunch; her granddaughter Jennifer Barnes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Revered George Nester of Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow at Everton Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Connersville Baptist Temple Quilters.
