Michael Stephen Ortutay

Michael Stephen Ortutay, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 13, 2024, in Valley Cottage, NY. He was born on June 29,1951, in Brooklyn, NY, to Mary Josephine Kane and Stephen Anthony Ortutay. Throughout his life Mike touched the hearts of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Stephen Ortutay, and his granddaughter Katelyn Patten.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Debra Gibney Ortutay; his brother:John Ortutay;his children: Chris Ortutay, Sandy Ortutay Zobel and husband Bobby, Justin Ortutay,Michelle Patten and husband Kevin, Greg Noll and wife Nacol, Kimberly Sparaco and husband Frank,Brian Threet and wife April, Michael Ortutay, and Jimmy Ortutay; his 15 cherished grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mike cherished his time spent with his loving family especially with his grandchildren who all have made him very proud. Michael Stephen Ortutay, (Pop, Papa Mike) will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

His legacy of love, compassion, stoic sense of humor, will forever be cherished and remembered by those who’s lives he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing he was loved beyond measure and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

A celebration of life will be held on November 21, 2024 from 3-6 PM @ Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc. 113 Lake Road East, Congers, NY 10920. Flowers can be sent to Higgins Funeral Home.
