Sarah was born October 9, 1971 in Plymouth, NH to Gary and June (McNamara) Cripps.
Sarah grew up in Holderness, NH. As an athletic person, she enjoyed spending time on Squam Lake and in the White Mountains. She graduated from Holderness School in 1990. She went on to UNH where she graduated in 1994 with a Wildlife Management degree.
Sarah worked at Lakes Region VW/Audi and served as a call firefighter for the Belmont Fire Department where she found her calling. She attended the New England EMS Institute and graduated as a paramedic in 2000. Sarah joined the Portsmouth Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic in October 2000 and retired in 2011 while battling breast cancer.
Sarah’s pride and joy was being a mother to her children. She was a member of the Mothers of Multiples twin group.
Sarah shared 10 years of marriage with her husband Matthew Fox in Canterbury, NH.
Sarah is survived by her husband Matthew Fox; her children Patia and twins Alexander and Anika; her two step-children Cassondra and Jacob Fox; her father Gary Cripps; brothers Jonathan Cripps and wife Adina, and Christopher Cripps and wife Sarah; her sister-in-laws Katja Fox and husband Tom Zotti, and Renée Fox and husband Rodney Obien; nieces Keelin Cripps and Amelia Cripps, nephew and godson Liam Cripps. Sarah was predeceased by her mother June Cripps (McNamara).
Matthew and family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the people that have been supportive, especially Russ Osgood and the Portsmouth Firefighter family. They would also like to thank all of the nurses and doctors who went above and beyond in their care of Sarah and her family. Their love and support during this difficult time and throughout Sarah’s battle with breast cancer has been important.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 on Friday December 16th at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St. Concord, NH. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday December 17th at Faith Community Bible Church, 334 North Village Rd. Loudon, NH with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Canterbury. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Portsmouth Fire Fighters Charitable Association at 170 Court St. Portsmouth, NH 03801.
