Robert F. Crowe, a very special man to many, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 and joined his wife Elaine (Martin) Crowe in Heaven. Born on February 2, 1926 in Malden, MA Robert was the son of Michael and Nora Crowe.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Elaine (Martin) Crowe; his parents and his four very dear sisters, Margaret, Esther, Dorothy and Christina.
Robert held a special place in his heart for his son, Lawrence Crowe and his wife, Kimberly of Concord NH; his two precious granddaughters, Marissa Renee and Kelley Lyn Crowe. He also deeply treasured his time with his many nieces and nephews.
Robert was a World War II veteran having served in the 69th Infantry Division in Europe from 1944-46 and was awarded a purple heart. He returned to the states to elope with the love of his life, Elaine. Robert was a member of the American Legion and the past President of the Fighting 69th Infantry Division Association.
Robert retired from the Converse Rubber Company after a successful career that started in the mailroom and ended in research and development. He also retired from the Army National Guard stationed at Fort Devens, MA.
Robert dedicated time and financial support to many organizations during his lifetime. He was a Boy Scout leader, volunteer at the USO at Logan Airport and volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. He supported Angel Flight, St. Judes Hospital for Children and the Home for Little Wanderers in MA.
Robert enjoyed skiing, traveling the country with his wife, camping, his dogs Baron, Misty and Irish and spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
