Robert, known to family and friends as Bob, and also as “Bing”, was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on October 10th, 1953, the son of the late Joseph and Kathleen Crosby. He lived in Revere, Massachusetts before settling in Concord, New Hampshire.
He met his late wife Sally Crosby and they married in 1980. They shared 37 beautiful years together raising their two daughters prior to Sally’s passing in 2017. After Sally’s passing, Bob met and fell in love with his current wife, Karen (nee Keyes) Crosby. Though only sharing four years together, Karen and Bob built a life of love and adventure, enjoying their time together and filling every day with laughter and joy.
He spent many years working construction, a trade he was proud of and excelled in both professionally and in his personal life. Later he began driving school busses for the Concord School District. He grew to love his job and thoroughly enjoyed his time with his coworkers who quickly turned into a second family.
Bob enjoyed coaching his daughters in softball for many years which lead to many years of umpiring and volunteering with the Concord American Softball League in Concord. Even after his children no longer played the game, Bob continued to be found at the Softball fields, umpiring and volunteering for the league for future generations. Bob was a lifelong New England sports fan and loved to watch the Red Sox and Patriots both in person and on TV. He enjoyed camping, taking trips with family and friends, gardening, and building fires in his firepit. Above all else he loved being a husband, a father, and especially a grandfather. His love for his family was incredibly deep and profound.
Bob is survived by wife Karen Crosby, of Concord and her two children Liz Jennings and Paul Freitas; brother Joseph Crosby and wife Genevieve “Jeannie” of South Attleboro, Massachusetts; daughters Sara Crosby and husband George Parker of Wallingford, Connecticut and Shana Berube and husband Christopher John Berube of Frederica, Delaware; niece Kim Sherman and husband James Sherman of Pembroke; nephews John Robinson, Josh Robinson and Keegan Phoenyx Robinson; great nephews Jacob Sherman and Cody Sherman; and grandchildren Jackson and Lyla Berube.
