He was the loyal son of departed parents Jack and Keitha Weston, loving brother of Sue Manning, dedicated father of Shannon Weston, beloved husband of Nancy Weston and cherished friend of many.
Richard (Rick) had a storybook life and was always willing to share a tale or two with anyone listening. He was born 1944’s “Mr. New Years” in Fort Benning, Georgia and grew up in Michigan where he was a High School wrestler and football player. He attended college at Eastern Michigan University before serving our country as a mighty Green Beret in Vietnam. It was there he discovered a love of helping and healing. He went on to study medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and became New Hampshire’s first Physician assistant. He treated people for many years at the Concord Clinic and many more at the VA Hospital in Manchester.
Rick worked hard and played hard. He left many a mark in footprints and bloody noses on the rugby fields across the globe. He left many a song, ringing in our hearts with his guitar. His love of music led to an impressive collection of Dobros which he played with the Lazy Boy Rockers, a band that gave him so much pleasure in his retirement years.
Rick wore many titles, Bubba, Daddy-O and Babes to name just a few and we will forever miss calling him these. Rick wants us to live life to the fullest. He made a final exit comfortable with knowledge that, all else aside, he was truly a good person.
A memorial celebration will be held for friends and family at Tricky Ricky’s Ticky Tacky Tiki Bar when the snow is only a memory.
The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.
“And he sang as he sat and waited while his billy boiled…You’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me.”
