Born on August 7, 1941 at Portsmouth Hospital in Portsmouth, NH to parents Norman R. Cain, Sr. and Arlene (Johnson) Cain.
Norm was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Main Central Institute, Keene State College with a degree in Secondary Industrial Arts Education. He taught at Charlestown HS, Fall Mt. Regional, Bow Memorial, and Henniker Middle School. He owned and operated Norkris Building and Remodeling and worked at GE Aircraft Engine. During his retirement, Norm had a great time as a courier for Eastern Analytical.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, building furniture and restoring antique furniture, but most of all, time with family and friends was his priority. His daughter, Kristin and nieces, Terri and Pam were the recipients of beautiful hope chests that he designed and made for their high school graduations.
Norman was giving, kind, honest, generous with his time to help others, an amazing problem solver, and had a great sense of humor. As a teacher, Norm encouraged his students to be creative, independent, and critical thinkers.
He was predeceased by his parents, his surviving family includes his wife Peggy of 50 years; his daughter, Kristin; daughter-in-law, Christine; grandsons: Dylan, Logan, and Branden; his cousin, Dr. Brad Goodwin (Susan); his brother-in-law, Don Lower, his children Terri, Pam, and Kevin and their families; cousins and friends.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lisa Atkinson, Dr. David Green, and Dr. Scott Fabozzi for their kindness and exceptional care as well as to the Granite VNA and Granite VNA Hospice staff for their attentive care and compassion.
