Jeane R. (Carder) Hodgman-Ashland of Loudon, passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2024. Born in Portsmouth to Rex and Florence (Brownfield) Carder. She attended Concord schools before graduating from Portsmouth High School (class of 1952).
She worked at Blake's Turkey Farm, The Village Press and D. McLeod Florist before retiring as a supervisor, from the NH Dept. of Safety after 22 years.
She was a longtime member of NH State, Pomona & National Granges, through Millville, Bow and Pembroke Granges. She had also been a longtime member of the Loudon Freewill Baptist Church and Granite State Bowling League.
Jeane loved camping & RVing, travelling across the country with her late husband Don and spending time with her friends as a member of the NH Wanderers, Good Sam Club. She enjoyed knitting & crocheting for everyone and her trips to the casinos.
Jeane was predeceased by her two husbands Elwin Hodgman in 1990 and Donald Ashland in 2007, three brothers Richard, Dean & Robert Carder and a stepdaughter Joyce Dukette.
Jeane is survived by her sons, Timothy Hodgman and his wife Linda of Warner, Terry Hodgman and Jeane's "adopted" son Alan Puglisi of Manchester and Toby Hodgman and his wife Cindy of Concord, step daughters, Brenda Bodi and her husband Brian of Concord and Bonnie Ashland of Penacook and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Louraine Martell of Loudon and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Bennett Funeral Home 209 N. Main Street Concord, NH 03301. A private graveside service and burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that folks consider making donations to the National Kidney Foundation.
