

concord, NH — Florence S. McAllister, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, of Concord passed gently into the arms of God surrounded by her family on November 20 at Concord Hospital.
Florence was born to Harvey O and Alice Connelly on June 30, 1933, and raised in Concord. She was predeceased by brother Harvey and has a sister Dottie living in Florida. She graduated from Concord High School in 1951. She married her one and only love, Lawrence McAllister in November of 1952 and became a dutiful and supportive Army wife. 4 children followed, and they traveled the world, always coming back to Concord as their home base.
Larry retired in 1971 and they bought their first home in Concord. Once the children were all in school, Flossie went to work at Blue Cross where she thrived, and eventually retired as a department supervisor.
Faith and family were the common threads that wove through her life and gave her the greatest joy. She leaves behind to mourn and miss her are her daughter Holly and husband Steven VanderMate of Buckeye, Arizona; daughter Linda and husband Charlie Iselborn of Maine, and son Christopher and his partner Laura Pickard of Concord. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Desi, Natasha, Adam, Allyson, Abby, Liza and Lucy.
She leaves great grandchildren Matilda, Kyliegh, Iris, Hennessey, Marley and Penelope.
Preceding her in death, are her parents, her husband, and oldest daughter Colleen Brooks.
She was a consummate volunteer at St Paul's Parish and you could find her folding shopping bags, labeling items at the thrift shop, and tending to the clientele at the food pantry. During the pandemic, when unable to attend church, she was determined to participate in daily prayers via zoom.
Flossie was a part of the yearly holiday Bazaar and any other committee or chore she could get involved in. She loved her Saint Paul family and was overjoyed when the pandemic protocols were lifted and she could get back to church.
She was active in planning and being the treasurer for her graduating class, helping to plan and organize reunions. She loved family home and yard, pets, family gatherings, gardening, knitting, reading, and her Dover Street Gang.
Calling Hours at Bennett Funeral Home, Concord on Friday 11/26 from 11 am - 1 pm. Funeral at St Paul's Episcopal Church Concord NH 2 pm.
Celebration and refreshments in Church function room.
