Elizabeth Jacobs

Betty worked her entire career at the School of Nursing now known as the Yeaple Building at the Concord Hospital. She was a member of the Pembroke Congregational Church and also was a volunteer at the Pembroke Library. She was a passionate golfer and was a member of the Pembroke Pines Golf Course (Plausawa Valley CC) for over 30 years.

Betty, was a respected, caring woman in her community. She loved her family and friends more than life itself. Known as Nanny to her grandchildren, she considered them her “treasures.” She enjoyed spending her time reading and loved a challenging puzzle. She would never pass up the opportunity for a friendly game of Rummikub with her friends.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Asa (Mickey) Jacobs; her mother and father, Raymond and Mary Merill; brother, Ray and her sister, Joan.

Betty is survived by her son Charles Jacobs and his wife Susan of Laconia, NH., their children Charles (CJ) and his wife Christy, Emily Gans and her husband Jon. Her daughter Bonnie Ryan and her husband Michael of Concord, NH., their children Kristen Breault, her husband Jeff, and Lauren Ryan, and her fiance Brett; six great-grand-children and several nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses on 4South at Merrimack County Home. We will forever be thankful for the compassion and love given by everyone involved in her care.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 12pm to 1pm with a funeral service immediately following at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St. Concord. A committal service will be held at Blossom Hill Cemetery.
