Carolyn Ann Lewis

Carolyn Ann Lewis, 82 of Concord, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024 while surrounded by her family. Born on January 21, 1942 in Concord, NH she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Sargent and Permelia Celeste (LaValley) Martin.

Carolyn grew up in Concord and was a graduate of Concord High School Class of 1959. After high school, she attended and graduated from Margaret's Beauty School in 1960. She worked her entire career as a hair stylist and co-owned The New Image Beauty Salon in New London, NH. She was an active member of the "CHS 59ers", a female alumni group, and she served as president for 10 years. She was also a member of the NH Hairdressers Association and served as secretary, she was a co-founder of the Grantham 4-H Club, and a member of the Blue Mountain Snowdusters snowmobile club.

Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren (who lovingly referred to her as "Nana") and going to York Beach with her family. She was a crafty person who enjoyed making homemade cards for family and friends, decorating her home, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching and needlepointing. She enjoyed reading (especially mystery novels), listening to music, and planning events for her family.

She is survived by her daughter Annalee Murphy and husband Matthew: son Jay Lewis and wife Karin: grandchildren Leander Murphy, Owen Murphy, Rachel Lewis and Sarah Lewis: sisters Aleene Hastings and Dianna Powers: and brother John Martin. She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years Richard Lewis, and sister Roberta Mathews.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St, Concord, NH. A funeral service will occur Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Blossom Hill Cemetery Chapel, 207 N. State St, Concord, NH, with a burial to follow immediately after.
