Alice was born in Waltham, Mass, daughter of Walter and Alice Ryan on November 29, 1939. She attended Saint Patrick’s High School in Watertown, Massachusetts, Bernadette College, and Southern NH University. Alice worked as an Engineering Secretary at Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton Corporation (Electronics & Instrumentation Division) in Waltham, Mass prior to meeting her husband, James F. Cremin. They married on October 26, 1963, at Saint Jude Church in Waltham, Massachusetts. They lived in Medford, Mass. before relocating to Concord, NH with the aim of raising their family.
Alice took immense pride in her family and in her Irish heritage. Being the proud mother of 5 children – 2 girls and 3 boys, she was an active participant in her children’s interests and activities - whether it be as a Boy Scout troop leader, taking the time to handcraft costumes and shoe bags for her daughters’ tap dance or in helping with nightly schoolwork. Alice was a devout Irish Catholic and teacher of religious education classes as a member of the Christ the King Parish for many years. Her love of history and heritage enabled her to write papers about the Irish Famine and family genealogy that members of her family still cherish today. Alice would often be overheard in a colorful way saying, ‘Know your history!!’ to the many she cared about.
Following the death of her beloved husband and great love of her life, Alice found great joy volunteering at the Concord City Auditorium, known as The Audi. For many years she ushered for community performances and was a member of the Sunset Club, Forever Young, Bow Young at Heart, Red Hat Club, and AARP. As one of the inaugural members of the Concord Senior Center when it was located in the Concord Heights, she frequented the facility often, volunteering and participating in the many offerings the Senior Center put forth. While residing at Horseshoe Pond Place, she enjoyed going on trips and outings with her friends, as well as activities, such as the card game Pokeno held there. Always a joyful winner of Bingo and one to make sure laughter was part of the day. Alice enjoyed reading groups, learning history, coloring, talking, and sharing with friends and family. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person with a feisty humor and quick wit.
