William “Bill” Vaughn Pabst Sr., age 86, of Dublin, Ohio passed away on July 1, 2024. He was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio to the late William G. Pabst and Lydia M. (Hollister) Balo. Also preceded in death by his stepfather, E. Carroll Balo and sister, Nancy Graham. Bill graduated from West High School in 1956 then served as President of the West High School Alumni Association in 2015. Following high school, Bill went on to become a Franklin County Sherriff Deputy and participated in funeral escorts. Bill rose to the rank of 32° Master Mason in 1966 at the West Gate Lodge No. 623 and then became a Syrian Shriner in 1975. In 1975 Bill was awarded Commission of Kentucky Colonel by the Kentucky Governor. Bill retired as General Manager for Greyhound Bus Lines in 1993 after 31 years of service. In his retirement years he surrounded himself with family, friends, and golf. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty, and four children: Debbie (Terry) Young of Schaumburg, IL, Bill Pabst Jr. of Nashville, IL, Tom (Susan) Pabst of Columbus, OH, and Jim (Amy) Pabst of Mundelein, IL. Grandchildren - Greg Young, Dan Young, Jamie Pabst, Mike Pabst and Clark Pabst. Nephews Dave (Shelly) Graham and Mark Graham and many dear family and friends.
Family will receive friends from 9-10:30 A.M. Friday, July 12, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43221, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M.
