Bill Bassett, a special person, a life well lived, always a soft spoken friend and mentor to young people in the office.  Memories are too numerous to begin—-prayers for the family.

My clearest memories of Uncle Bill are of him peering over his glasses with a wry smile, the corners of his eyes crinkled in mirth. He was always genuinely interested in my life in New England and treated me with such warmth. I remember the excitement of riding and driving his tractors. But I also remember his collection of models that dotted his home along with the tools of an architect that always fascinated me. Even in his later years, he always wanted to speak with me at family reunions and hear about my life in DC. Sometimes there was a bit of a subtle agenda behind his questions and comments, but they were always made with a quick laugh and an open smile. I remember feeling the whole focus of his considerable intellect when we spoke and how much I I felt he truly cared. I will miss him and clearly many others will as well.   - Daniel Bassett

I remember sitting and talking to Mr. Bassett next to his drafting table in his office when the firm was on North High St.
I don't recall what is was we were discussing.
I suppose I was probably about 4 years old.
It's such a fond memory.
Years later when I worked for the firm he was always such a nice man.
I always enjoyed being around him.
Lots of great memories of Mr Bassett.

Dear Sandy, Gary, Joanie, Annette, and Jenni,
My heart is hurting for all of you.  I never remember not knowing your dad (and all your family).  I have always held dear my childhood memories of our families as next door neighbors on Kentwell Road. Sandy, Bob, and Families, I am so sorry for your loss. How wonderful and long a life to have loved your Dad. My heart to you all, my prayers for your comfort of his peace in the presence of God. Be joyful in your memories. :purple_heart::rose:

The staff of Putnam County Hospice sends our deepest sympathy for your loss.  We will keep William and all of his family and our friends in our thoughts and prayers.

I will always remember Bill "Mr. Bassett" as a kind and caring person. I was a single parent and worked for MCB, Inc.  He watched a show on TV about single parents.  How they struggle and are sometimes homeless.  He came into the office the next day and told me as long as he had a home I would never be homeless. That is how kind and big his heart was. He will ne missed and remembered fondly.  Shirley Barnes.
