Vince was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a proud alumnus of THE Ohio State University. Hardly a Saturday you could not find him on campus or at his home rooting on his Battling Buckeyes. I’m sure Woody is tired of the questions already.
Vince’s life was articulated by Service. He was truly driven to help others. Service to this great Nation as a Sailor during the Vietnam War. Service to his community, keeping our streets safe as a Columbus Police Officer. As a police officer his service encompassed S.W.A.T., Burglary, Organized Crime, and the Detective Bureau. This helped catapult his second career successfully founding and running his own Private Investigation Firm. He offered service to those in need by improving the lives of our youth as a Big Brother and volunteering with Charity Newsies for over 20 years. He selflessly served his family – raising six great children and inspiring them to pursue their passions and instilling the value of a strong work ethic. He extended service to his friends and colleagues; always there to make a meal, help fix something, or give sage advice.
He valued family above all else and spent his work and personal time dedicated to those he loved.
Vince was passionate about many things and loved to share those passions with everyone around him. From the Ohio State Buckeyes and Green Bay Packers, to his extensive collection of John Wayne Films, to his love of music, arts and culture. One of his greatest passions was celebrating his Italian culture, especially through food. This led him to opening his own catering company, An Italian Cucina.
He is preceded in death by his parents Katherine (Kelly) and Firpo Catalogna; brother John Catalogna and sister Kathy (Catalogna) Morris. Vince is survived by the love of his life Patty Catalogna; son Jacob (Amy) Catalogna; grandchildren; Aiden Catalogna and James Catalogna; son Christopher (Erin) Catalogna; grandchildren Avery Catalogna and Orianna Catalogna; son Benjamin (Amber) Catalogna; grandchildren Keaton Catalogna, Cole Catalogna, Noah Catalogna, Benjamin Catalogna; daughter Katharine Catalogna; daughter Laura Catalogna; daughter Megan (Anita) Scorsese grandchildren Vincent Scorsese and Anna Scorsese; sister Christine Catalogna, brothers Paul and Michael; many nieces and nephews and Godchildren.
