I’m so thankful to have had a friend like Tyrell throughout the last few years. Messing around in orchestra class with him was one of the best parts of highschool. I loved playing the funniest card games with Tyrell. I remember the time we played with the cards on the floor of a school bus headed all the way to Cleveland. School concert days were always hilarious with him there. This year, I was excited to be at OSU, being a year younger I was able to see him more often again. He was an all-around wonderful and gifted person with such a beautiful personality we all loved. I’ll cherish these memories forever.

I met Tyrell my freshman year of high school and we quickly became friends and we were doubles partners for two years. He made those years of tennis a whole lot more fun while also being incredibly kind and considerate to the whole team. After he graduated we would play and talk about life and those were always great days. Since he was a year ahead of me once I got in college we played too and he introduced me to a lot of what college was like. He was always a great friend and I will miss playing tennis and hanging out with him. Love and prayers for everyone.

Tyrell and I had our fair share of disagreements and rough patches; but always somehow found a way back to each other, and I like to think that is a testament to the bond we shared. He touched my life in ways that words can’t really capture; and left an imprint on the hearts of my family as well. These past 6 or so years we lived just yards away from each other; all the times we crossed backyards to make a mess of his kitchen making cupcakes- or to him to come and grab food from my mother, driving to head out to eat, or drive around and talk, or walk to the park- or simply just sit in his or my family’s living room to have a conversation; I never have been quite to express just how grateful I am God blessed me with someone like Tyrell in my life. He was the sweetest soul to my younger sisters and so kind to my parents and brothers, and truly an addition to my family. Once more I find myself speechless in explaining the hurt I feel to know that so many of us lost someone special; but that intensity is only a fraction of the amount of love and care I have for Tyrell. He truly, truly was one of the greatest people I’ve met, and one of the greatest blessings and treasures I’ve had the honor of being gifted. I pray that he knows just how much I smile when I think of him; and that he sees those smiles too. Love you forever and even more Tyrell and I hope and pray that you know that until I can tell you again one day.🤍 🤍 🤍

Tyrell was a dear friend to me. We met while working at Cinemark. He would visit me at my second job and we’d talk for hours. He would also routinely beat me at tennis while trying to convince me I was doing well. Tyrell was a compassionate, thoughtful, and loving person, and I will miss him greatly.

Tyrell was a huge part of my life for the better part of two years in high school. Someone once described our friendship dynamic similar to that of an old married couple. I played orchestra with him, he was truly talented at playing the violin. His smile and sense of humor would always brighten any room he walked into.  He introduced me to hot Cheetos and taught me how to play Egyptian rat screw, which is now my favorite card game. Tyrell and I went to homecoming together junior year of high school, my mom made him a boutonnière and I had so much fun at the dance with him. I will miss Tyrell so much and hope he has found peace.

💜Tyrell…though I only met you once, I’ll treasure our conversation, while dropping off our dog at Rae’s home. I found you to be so sweet, kind, bright, sensitive, charming, and simply adorable. We talked about OSU, our shared love of tennis, and my physical therapy career. I remember texting Rae, asking her to let Rick know what an amazing grandson he had. Of course, everyone already knew this. Our hearts are broken for your family and friends; it is certain that you will all carry your precious Tyrell Angel with you, always.
