Sue Witters Brannen, 67, of Ostrander, OH, passed away suddenly on February 19th. Sue was born September 24, 1947 to Darrel and Jean Witters, in Akron, OH. She graduated from Miami of Ohio with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and earned her Masters in Criminal Justice at the University of Albany. Sue dedicated her career to pre-trial services. She was the Executive Director of Pre-trial Services, Monroe County Courts, Rochester, NY and served as Specialized Services Manager, overseeing the Pre-trial Department of Franklin County, Ohio, Adult Probation Division. She served on the boards of the New York and the Ohio Associations of Pre-trial Service Agencies and served as President of the Ohio Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Kirsten Brannen, of Lansdale, PA, her siblings Sherry (Jack) Bjerke, of Columbus, OH, Dr. Lee (Judy) Witters of Hanover, New Hampshire; her nieces and nephews Craig (Heather) Bjerke, Ann (Tim) O'Bryan, Sean (Christy) Witters, Molly (Pat) Witters, and their children Connor, Audrey, Caleb, Julianne, Colton, Ben, Miles, Hazel, and Meg. Sue was an ardent advocate of the humane treatment of animals.
