Stephen P. MacArthur Sr. passed away on Sunday January 9th, 2022 at the age of 65 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of Muriel A. (MacLeod) MacArthur and John D. MacArthur (deceased). Steve is survived by his children Stephen MacArthur Jr. (fiancé Andrea), Kristen MacArthur; grandchild Giana Dilanni; siblings John MacArthur Jr. (Judy), Patricia Harris (Mark), David MacArthur Sr. (Nan), Michael MacArthur, Daniel MacArthur (Jeanne), Sue Conaway (Dave). Former spouses Beth MacArthur and Elaine MacArthur. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Steve was president and proud business owner of MacArthur, Inc. He was a graduate of Moeller High School in Cincinnati where he starred in football and received a football scholarship to Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. There he received his BS in Business and set an NCAA record of four interceptions in one quarter. Steve will be remembered for living life to the fullest. In addition to his charm, charisma and feistiness, he loved to share bold and lively stories with family and friends. His children Stephen and Kristen were his pride and joy, and he bragged about them often.
Steve was always generous to everyone, especially his mother who he treated to a night of fine dining every week. Steve organized many family activities, including the annual MacArthur Turkey Bowl football game, and was always the life of the party. He loved all sports, especially football. Steve was a loyal Cincinnati Bengals season ticket holder, and organized tailgate parties for family and friends. He also enjoyed salsa and ballroom dancing, taking naps, photography, gardening, everything golf, and eating anything sweet especially ice cream. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220. Interment at Union Cemetery.
