Sharon Marie (Pyle) Hixson, 76, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away August 14, 2023 after a valiant battle for ten years with gastropareses and other complications. She was a Mifflin HS graduate (1965) and greatly enjoyed her friendships with classmates. Sharon worked for Ohio Bell and Ameritech for 28 years, then MRC tax and auditing firm for nearly 20 years part time. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Sharon was a giving person, kind and compassionate, adorable, funny, caring and inspiring, always willing and able to help when needed. She did a lot of crafts work over her adult life, making things for others, and was a great cook in general, and was famous for her lasagna (with scratch made noodles) parties, beef and noodles, and apple crisp. She was a great friend to many, especially Brenda Dunno, Molly, Jane, and Wendy. Special friend Sue Clark was a long time friend. It would be nearly impossible to name all her friends, but Larry and Kelly Cotterman and Beth and Gary Ehlinger are among them.
Lucille Stegmiller, next door neighbor, benefitted greatly from her help. Many relatives appreciated Sharon’s love, as did her husband of 44 years, Roger. They were each other’s very best friends, devoted to each other, sharing their lives, home, travels, and time at their condo in Pompano Beach, FL. Sharon lost her parents, Ralston W Pyle and Ethel (Sutherland) Pyle, as well as all her siblings Gary, Larry, Delores, and Ernie over the last 8 years She is survived by niece Kimberly (Nate), nephews Kenny and Ernie II, and Steve (Tracy) Grant as well as numerous other cousins and close friends.
Sharon contributed to several charities, and anyone who desires to do so may contribute to the Franklin County Humane Society in her name. Roger wishes to note the great care provided to Sharon by Dr Kirby and the TPN Group at the Cleveland Clinic, and her primary care Dr Carducci and his staff, especially Lisa, and the Bing Center at Riverside Hospital, as well as other staff at Riverside.
Family will receive friends from 10 am – 12pm Monday, August 28 at SCHOEDINGER Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd, Upper Arlington, where a service will begin at 12 pm Monday. After the cemetery, all who wish to can gather at MCL restaurant in the Kingsdale Center, about a block from the funeral home for a late lunch or just to get together. We will have a separate room, and can go through the buffet line for food or drinks.
As her husband, Roger has much love for Sharon, already misses her greatly, will continue to do so, and has much respect for her devotion to our partnership and her determination in dealing with her medical situation over the last years. You were great, poh !
