Shannon Marie (Murphy) Monahan

Shannon Marie Monahan, age 48 of Westerville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Shannon grew up in New Albany, where she graduated in 1993. She pursued a Bachelor’s degree from Capital University and worked for J.P. Morgan Chase. Shannon was intelligent, funny, social, and never wanted to be the center of attention. Shannon had two passions in life – Family & Sports! You could always find her either cheering on her Buckeyes, Browns, or Indians. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband, Joshua Monahan; loving children, Mackenzie and Johnny Daulton; only grandson, Harrison Truman; parents, Diane (Greg Nice) Murphy and Richard (Robin) Murphy; siblings, Sherry (Justin) Stone and Richard (Courtney) Murphy, II; nieces, Alyssa, Carley, and Riley; nephews, Trip and Mason; mother-in-law, Liz Gibson; step-siblings, Erin (Brian) Bassitt and Evan Nice; and many other extended family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 P.M. Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 OH-37, Sunbury, Ohio. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or in memory of Shannon’s sister-law, Shannon Currier to the Ohio Domestic Violence Network.
